Gateway operates programs for the Missouri Department of Corrections in various institutions across the state. These programs incorporate evidence based individualized levels of care including outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential levels of treatment. Two of these programs operate in fully dedicated treatment institutions for males. There are two programs for females, and a special needs treatment program for male clients with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health or medical needs. In addition, Gateway provides comprehensive diagnostic substance use assessment services for the Missouri Department of Corrections across the state.
Through our Community Corrections initiatives, Gateway operates a re-entry program located at our St. Louis Outpatient Program. In 2020, Gateway was selected as the provider for the Missouri Department of Mental Health funded Alt Care program in St. Louis, MO. This program provides substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment services to justice-involved females who have completed a Department of Corrections (DOC) Institutional Treatment program or are referred by community Probation and Parole (P&P) officers for immediate services.
